Cliche Cosmetics

I know we talk about big national brands a lot but I’ve always really enjoyed finding smaller, up and coming brands. So naturally I was excited when Jess, the founder of Cliche Cosmetics found me on Twitter.  She sent me over some lipglosses to sample.

(on a sidenote, I was cleaning out my purse the other day and found not 1, not 2, not even 3 but FOUR glosses and two lipbalms in my purse! So although I need another lipgloss like I need a hole in my head, I was still quite excited to receieve one more. Don’t judge me.)

Anyway, so I received my pretty little tube of Cliche lipgloss in Sugar Plum and immediately put in on . The gloss has a great minty smell and taste which I love. It went on super smooth and has a great shine to it but it is not goopy – my number one requirement for a gloss. Also, it was long-lasting and kept my lips feeling moisturized and looking glossy long after I applied. Sugar Plum, the shade that I tried out did not have a bold color to it so I would have to apply it over a lipstick to achieve a bolder lip but I think it’s great for an everyday lipgloss or if you’re more interested in a natural look.

Cliche Cosmetics is a full service cosmetics line and also has great collections of powders, tinted moisturizers, blush, shadows as well as an organic line. You can also pick up your essential brushes and makeup tools on their site.

Last, if you’re into inspiring stories of young entrepreneurs, Cliche also delivers. Jess, the founder started the company after being diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer at the age of 21. She focused all of her attention into launching her company while finishing up her degree in Communication (go Comm majors!) and completing makeup school. Wow – she’s definitely a Beauty Maven!
